It is very popular with tourists and has an array of restaurants shops, and bars. Its nightlife is amazing and is popular for stag and hen weekends.
Originally at the end of the 1980's Temple Bar was embarked for demolition and clearance to make way for a new National Bus Station. But then someone realised its potential to become a home for artists, shops and bookstores and it was saved. Temple bar is a mixture of old and modern architecture, with its old buildings, cobbled streets and modern lovely restored buildings. It has a cosmopolitan buzz and there are plenty of places to eat and drink.
It is also home to the Irish Film Center converted from an old Quaker meeting house!
The Opera House, Belfast
A theatre in Belfast and was opened in December 1895. The Opera House is a listed building and has been restored extensively. In the 1990's the running of the theatre was taken over by the Grand Opera House Trust. There has also been an addition to the building The Baby Grand building of which is modern and host smaller events.
The Opera House is one of the city's great signature buildings. The venue maintains is operatic traditions, with performances by the Royal Ballet.
Kylemore Abbey and garden, Co. Galway
A fantastic neo-Gothic castle set in the Connemara mountains visitors are touched by its romance and tragedy. The castle became and Abbey when purchased by the benedictine nuns in 1920. It has 6 acres of Victorian walled garden including museum and glasshouses and you can get a shuttle bus from the abbey to the gardens. |
